Workplace diversity is a buzz phrase in the hiring world, and is a key consideration in today’s fast paced environment. It can be the difference between balance and unrest in a team. It is also a broad term which is most commonly applied to gender and culture, but it should also be considered in relation to personality type.
Part of what we do involves asking lots of questions of our candidates, so we thought it only fair that you get to know us a little better. Here, Nima Beik, one of our consultants, shares a little about his life outside of work, his technological history and passes on some advice for job hunters.
Podcasts are an easy way to stay up to date in today’s busy world as they allow listeners to multi task, engage from any device, and digest information in bite sized chunks. But with so many available it’s hard to know where to start. To to help you get started, we’ve compiled a list of go-to technology podcasts detailing a broad range of subjects.
We all know how hard it is to find that perfect candidate. There are always a large number and variety to choose from, each with their own specific characteristics, skills and experience. Go to the internet and there are scads and scads of tips telling you how to win that job, how to nail the interview. Generally these well intentioned missives centre on things like:
- Promote your strengths and manage your weaknesses
- Maintain eye contact – Don’t mumble – Don’t be nervous
- Be assertive – Sell yourself
- Show your ‘action’ persona
These days, a recruiter may receive hundreds of job applications for one position, so it’s more important than ever to stand out from the crowd. But regardless of your skill set, it can be difficult to remain memorable when one role can attract hundreds of applications, and when your first point of contact is normally via email or digital submission. An interactive, animated or visual representation of your experience could be the perfect option.
