In Conversation: Nima Beik

Part of what we do involves asking lots of questions of our candidates, so we thought it only fair that you get to know us a little better.  Here, Nima Beik, one of our consultants, shares a little about his life outside of work, his technological history and passes on some advice for job hunters.

Nima-blogWhat is your earliest recollection of technology?
My earliest recollection of technology would have to be playing my Nintendo 64 on my family’s old school fat TV… good times indeed.

What are your hobbies outside of work?
I play semi-professional soccer, I love to hang out with friends and family, and pretty much do any fun or sporty activity that keeps me active and happy.

If you could have lunch with one person, who would it be?
I would have to say Bruce Lee. Might sound random, but he’s my idol, I’ve loved him ever since I was little kid and I think it would’ve been a true honor to pick his brain and contemplate the true philosophies of being physically and mentally balanced.

If you could have the equivalent of Google ‘20% time’ what would you spend it working on?
I would love to spend the time to develop an ultimate Social Media platform that exercises all concepts of social media sharing and data capturing that just kicks all other competitors out of the water.

What piece of advice would you give to job hunters?
I strongly believe that building your own network of contacts is vital towards the creation of future opportunities. And don’t forget, being your true self goes a long way down the track of not losing sight of what you’re truly after, which will lead to success and happiness.
